Piedmont Newton receives donation to Special Care Nursery from the Kiwanis Club of Covington
Kiwanis donation

COVINGTON, Ga. - Piedmont Newton Hospital’s Special Care Nursery received 30 gift bags donated by the Kiwanis Club of Covington. Each canvas bag contains a newborn onesie, blanket, socks, journal, pen and marker, and a personal note from a member of the Kiwanis Club.

The Kiwanis motto is “Serving the Children of the World,” and the Kiwanis Club of Covington supports local families through various service projects and fundraising activities. The gift bags are intended to be a special gift for those families who are experiencing the stressful situation of having their babies treated in the Special Care Nursery.

The Special Care Nursery at Piedmont Newton cares for babies born as early as 32 weeks and for babies who require extra attention because of certain conditions, such as low oxygen levels and jaundice.
