Piedmont Healthcare and Kaiser Permanente sign new contract
Piedmont Healthcare

ATLANTA – Piedmont Healthcare and Kaiser Permanente have finalized a new contract, ensuring patients’ continued in-network access to all Piedmont Healthcare facilities extending through the 2021 plan year.

The negotiation and agreement were completed several months in advance of the contract termination date. The new Piedmont and Kaiser Permanente relationship includes Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center and Piedmont Rockdale Hospital.

“We have a history of working collaboratively with Kaiser Permanente for more than 20 years,” said Kevin Brown, president and CEO of Piedmont Healthcare. “Reaching an agreement well in advance of the end of our existing contract demonstrates how committed both organizations are to assuring our patients of their continued access to high-quality care.”

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is one of the Kaiser Permanente core facilities in the Atlanta metro area that Kaiser Permanente physicians admit to. This close collaboration is indicative of the mutual respect both organizations have for the others’ commitment to the highest quality of care.

“Piedmont has been an important, valued partner to Kaiser Permanente for many years, and enables us to provide our members with the high-quality care they need and deserve,” said Mary L. Wilson, M.D., executive medical director of Kaiser Permanente. “We look forward to deepening our relationship and continuing care for our members in the greater Atlanta area.”

In the new agreement, all of the Piedmont’s hospitals and many of their physicians will be participating in Kaiser Permanente’s market exchange product.
