MADISON Ga. – The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center will be abuzz with Grammy-winning performers during the weekend of May 5-7.

The two-time Grammy Award-winning quartet, Turtle Island Quartet, will take the MMCC stage on Friday, May 5 at 8 p.m.

Turtle Island, known for its innovative recordings and diverse projects ranging in style from jazz, classical, bluegrass to Indian music, joins forces with extraordinary jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut.  Making soulful and sweet connections, together they draw a blazing and virtuosic line from the early roots of jazz directly to Theolonious Monk, one of the geniuses of the modern jazz era.

This concert is part of the 15th Madison Chamber Music Festival and is sponsored by Donna & Ralph Blanchard, The Brady Inn, South Arts, and the Virgil P. Warren Foundation.

On Sunday, May 7 at 4 p.m., the Grammy Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra returns for a second visit during MMCC’s 40th anniversary season.

Come hear the symphony perform a musical journey through three capitols of Europe—Vienna, Paris, and London—with Mozart's "A Little Night Music," Couperin's "Pieces en Concert" with cellist Daniel Laufer, and Haydn's grandest symphony of all, the London Symphony. This is an afternoon designed to carry you away with great music from great cities played by the most celebrated symphony orchestra of the entire southern USA.

This concert is generously sponsored by the Bank of Madison and Jim Boyd & Associates, Inc.
