Mark and Alison Davis, of Covington, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Ashley Lauren Davis, to Michael Eugene Morrow, son of Wayne and Elizabeth Morrow, of Jefferson.

The bride is the granddaughter of Hugo Davis and the late Peggy Davis and Linda Walden and the late Gene Walden, all of Covington. She is a 2002 graduate of Eastside High School, a 2004 graduate of Oxford College and a 2006 graduate of the University of Georgia. She is the Data Manager at UGA.

The wedding was held at the UGA Chapel in Athens on June 25, 2016 with the Honorable Samuel Ozburn officiating. A reception followed at The Graduate in Athens. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She was attended by Lori Fields, of Athens, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Harding, of Covington, Sarah Sharpless, of Covington – both high school friends of the bride – Grace Walden, of Covington – cousin of the bride – and Anna Jo Davis, of Roswell – sister-in-law of the bride. The bride wore a tulle ball gown in soft white with a pearl and lace bodice and a lace illusion back with a sweep train. She wore her mother’s pearl-enhanced veil and carried a bouquet of white roses with purple and green hydrangeas and wrapped in her late grandfather’s handkerchief. Attendants wore one-shoulder dresses with lace bodices in plum.

The groom was attended by David Fields, of Hull, as best man and by Chase Davis, of Roswell – brother of the bride – Tim Ledford, of Danielsville, Chris Walker, of Hoschton, and Richard Alexander, of Athens – all friends of the groom.

The flower girl was Kelsey King, of Dalton – niece of the groom – who wore a white sleeveless tulle dress with an embroidered bodice and satin sash and bow.

Ring bearer was Alex Morrow, of Jefferson – son of the groom. The groomsmen and the ring bearer wore gray suits with plum accent ties, vests and pocket squares. The groom and father of the bride wore gray and plum bowties.

Music for the ceremony was provided by pianist Cody Kujawa. The ceremony site was decorated with magnolias and hydrangeas and a chiffon-draped arbor. Following the marriage pronouncement, the groomsmen, high school football officials, flagged the kiss and penalized the bride and groom by requiring a “re-kiss.” The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner the previous evening at Tazikis in Athens.

The newlyweds spent their honeymoon at Disney World in Florida. They currently reside in Jefferson.
