MADISON, Ga. – Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia, Inc., (BGCNCG) recently announced its corporate board has selected Rachael Ward as the organization’s first Vice President of Marketing. Ward has spent countless hours dedicating her time to the children of the Boys & Girls Clubs throughout the years.

“We welcome Ms. Rachael Ward to our executive team,” President and CEO, Bob Mackey said. “To create a world-class organization that will make a difference, we must have world-class professionals who are dedicated to making a difference. Rachael is the best of the best. We are making great strides in building our North Central Georgia Region. We are bringing aboard professionals who have the skill set, talent, drive and love for the kids and communities that we serve. I’m excited to see what we’ve been able to accomplish in a short period of time.”

Ward most recently served as Assistant Director of Marketing for a prominent Atlanta law firm, but felt a strong calling to come home to what matters most to her – service. Prior to her career in Marketing, Ward spent seven years in the North Georgia region serving as a journalist in those communities. During this time she cultivated a strong partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs. As Managing Editor of the Lake Oconee News (Greensboro), she implemented the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Newspaper Club. Working side by side with the youth of Pete Nance, she instilled the core characteristics of what we believe in – providing love, education and an exciting future full of promise.

Ward holds an impressive record within journalism with 27 Georgia Press Association awards – many dealing with community efforts. Born in Southwest Georgia, Ward’s experience influenced her passion for the 21st century learning, public relations and offering space for our children to grow. Watching her parents educate the youth of her small town gave her insight to the everyday struggles that many don’t get to see – children in need of food, clothes, attention and someone to tell them “You can do this!”

“There is nothing greater in this world than the mind of a child. They are the future of the planet that we walk on and they deserve our greatest attention. We all desire and yearn for someone to say ‘you are enough and you will be great.’ For that reason and many more, I am so thrilled to be joining such an amazing organization that works tirelessly to help bridge the gap for those children who need to hear that their future is bright,” Ward said. “I’ve made a commitment to share our story. We do so many great things at the Boys & Girls Club and the world needs to know.”

Serving more than 1,438 youth from Walton, Morgan, Greene, Putnam and Newton Counties, BGCNCG’s vision is to provide a world-class club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors. The result has all members graduating from high school with plans for their futures, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living healthy lifestyles.
