 Dr. Sheryl Lynn Henderson of Atlanta and Mr. Philip Edward Wait of Atlanta were united in marriage June 6 at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, Atlanta, with the Rev. Charles Gardner officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James T. Marston of Covington and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Harrison of Anderson, S.C. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Langdon H. Wait of Acton, Mass.

 Serving as maid of honor was Dr. Melanie Henderson Wills of Moultrie, sister of the bride. Best man was Mr. Langdon H. Wait, father of the groom. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Samantha Storti of Ayer, Mass., sister of the groom; Mrs. Amanda Januskiewicz of Lunenburg, Mass., sister of the groom; Mrs. Dana Farrell of Covington; Ms. Mara Hammond of Charleston, S.C., and Dr. Margaret Moore of Macon.

 Groomsmen were Mr. Stephen Ferencik of Atlanta; Mr. Brian Kenah of Atlanta; Mr. Ryan Newell of North Potomac, Md.; Mr. Jeff Guinee of Boston; Mr. Benji McLeod of Atlanta; and Mr. Mike Rider of Columbia, S.C.

The bride wore a strapless Melissa Sweet gown of ivory lace with a champagne colored silk-charmeuse sash at the waist. Her "something borrowed" was a cathedral length veil trimmed in ivory lace. The bouquet was a nosegay of ivory roses, stephanitis and hydrangeas. Her "somethings old" were the diamond in her engagement ring that belonged to the groom’s great-grandmother, a diamond "princess" ring worn on her right hand that belonged to her grandmother, and a lace handkerchief that has been carried by all the women on the groom’s side for four generations of weddings.

The bridesmaids wore pale gold brocade strapless cocktail dresses by Priscilla of Boston and carried brightly colored bouquets of lavender and coral roses, hydrangeas, lilies, and orchids.

 The reception was held at La Grotta Ristorante, Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel and was a seated three-course dinner. Guests enjoyed dancing to a seven-piece band. The wedding cake was a vanilla cake with raspberry filling and buttercream icing and was served with gelato and fresh berries. Wedding favors were Boston Creme cupcakes in honor of the groom’s hometown and toothbrushes with the couple’s monogram.

 The couple honeymooned at The Turks and Caicos Islands. They reside in the Brookhaven area of Atlanta. The bride practices dentistry in Lilburn, and the groom is employed as an associate vice president/financial advisor for Morgan Stanley-Smith Barney in Atlanta.
