Karen Lea Hart of Covington and Daniel Ray Herrin of Waverly were married Oct. 30 at Jekyll Isalnd with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Linda C. Hart and the late Mr. Leason C. Hart Jr. of Social Circle and granddaughter of Mrs. Annie C. Crook and the late Mr. Gordon Combs of Washington and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leason C. Hart of Social Circle. Her great-aunt is Mrs. Rheba H. Oglesbee of Social Circle.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Herrin of Waverly and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed Herrin of Waycross and the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Kirby of Chattanooga, Tenn.

The couple married on a rose petal covered path under oak trees overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at the Beachview Club Hotel on Jekyll Island. In memory of her father, the bride carried his wedding ring on her bouquet, and the stem of her bouquet of roses was wrapped with one of his neckties. The groom wore cufflinks inscribed with the letter "H" that the bride’s father wore when her parents married. The bride walked down the aisle to "Come Away With Me," played on the acoustic guitar by Pace Conner of St. Simons Island.

Ms. Anne Hart of Atlanta served as maid of honor and Mrs. Bethanie W. Bunder of Senoia was bridesmaid.

Mr. Eddie Lee of Sugar Hill, and Mr. Jody Dades of Phenix City, Ala., served as best men. Groomsman was Mr. Eric Knutson of Waverly.

Miss Karissa Aldridge of Covington served as flower girl. Ms. Mary Raas of Decatur read a poem entitled, "Why Marriage?" The wedding was directed by Mrs. Kim Aldridge of Covington.

The reception was held oceanfront under a tent on the Beachview Club Hotel grounds. The couple honeymooned at Sanibel Island and now reside in Florida.
