Ballew-Sorrells

Nikkie Sheree Ballew of Covington and Nicholas Sean Sorrells of Covington were united in marriage Sept. 30 at Gateway Community church with Dr. John Pearrell officiating.

The bridge is the daughter of Pauline Ballew of Covington and was given in marriage by her mother. The groom is the son of Wade and Joan Sorrells of Covington. 

The bride wore an ivory Casablanca gown featuring embroidered organza over satin.

Serving as maid of honor was Krysal Lyle of Woodstock. Bridesmaids were Patricia Saponari of Kennessaw and Mary Saponari of Elberton. They wore black chiffon dresses by D’Zage and Alfred Angelo. The junior bridesmaid, Morgan Gaffey of Wilmington, Mass., wore an Alfred Angelo ivory dress with a black sash.

Kyle McGuinn of Oxford was best man. Groomsmen were Toler Godwin of Oxford and Peter Ciccone of Atlanta. Junior groomsmen were Pierce and Cade Ciccone of Powell, Ohio.

Bouquets were created by A Bouquet by Betty. Other floral arrangements were created by the groom’s aunt, Linda Ciccone of Riverdale. Toler Godwin played the guitar and sang before the ceremony, and Mrs. Myra Pearrell played piano before and during the ceremony.

Serving as ushers were Kyle Lowry and Elijah Daniel of Covington and Errol Hartbarger of Oxford. Mrs. Judy Davis of Rutledge assisted as volunteer coordinator.

The reception was held at the Burge Plantation and the couple honeymooned in Panama City Beach, Fla. They now reside in Covington.
