David and Janet McCoy, columnists for the Covington News, announce the birth of their grandson Daniel Christopher McCoy on Dec. 27. He weighed 7 pounds and 12 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

Parents of the newborn are Christopher and Michelle McCoy of Due West, S.C.

Maternal grandparents are Lynne and Mike Miles of Monroe and Mark and Bonnie Hornsby of Grayson.
