Matthew, who was born at 3:55 p.m., was 8 pounds, 7 ounces and 21 ½ inches. His maternal grandparents are Charlene and Richard Mitchell and Tony and Linda Hanson of Covington, and paternal grandparents are Linda Jones of Conyers and Barry Gregory (deceased).

Matthew has an older brother, Mason Michael Gregory.
