Covington to host Bicycle Ride Across Georgia event
BRAG

COVINGTON, Ga. - The Bicycle Ride Across Georgia is a nonprofit dedicated to providing affordable, quality bicycle tours in and across the state of Georgia. It is the second oldest across-state bicycle tour in the world and has attracted riders domestically and internationally for more than 40 years.

Beginning at 11 a.m. June 3 through 7 a.m. June 4 Covington will host the spring ride BRAG event.

More than 1,000 bike riders will be staying at Indian Creek Middle school for overnight to rest for the next leg of their journey. The Covington-Newton County Tourism Bureau will operate shuttles throughout the day to bring BRAG riders to Covington Square to shop and dine. A free concert with Drive Time will begin at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

“We are excited about BRAG coming to stay with us for the night,” Jenny McDonald said. “This is a great chance for Covington/Newton County residents to show our visitors why we are such a special community.”
