COVINGTON, Ga. - “Margaritaville,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise” and “Come Monday” are just some of the songs you will hear during Stars & Stripes Fest presented by Main Street Covington and the City of Covington on Wednesday, July 4. A1A: The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band will be headlining the event and perform some of your favorite Jimmy Buffett songs.

4th of July

Also performing at Stars & Stripes Fest will be Hannah Thomas, Drive Time Band and the Newton County Community Band & Mass Community Choir.

In addition to the great performances, several activities for kids of all ages will be offered such as a rock wall, zip line, large inflatables, spider jump, and so much more. Some of these activities will be available for a fee; however, the event admission is absolutely free.

Start designing your patriotic golf cart décor now for the annual Golf Cart Parade around the Square benefitting the Newton County Special Olympics Equestrian Team.

Food vendors will also be available and will be selling a variety of options such as pizza, hotdogs and hamburgers, barbeque and sandwiches along with ice cream, shaved ice, and Italian Ice to wash it down. If you have a craving for favorite Downtown Covington restaurants, they will be open as well as some of the retail stores with special Fourth of July promotions.

Main Street Covington still has some vendor space left for food vendors and non-food vendors. “We’re almost at capacity for food vendors; however, we are looking for some great, unique arts & crafts vendors to be part of this year’s event,” stated Main Street Director Lauren Singleton.

Main Street Covington would like to thank a few of their sponsors: McKibbon Music, Newton County Board of Commissioners, JACO Contracting, Fat Boys Golf Carts, United Bank of Covington, Bulldog Tire Company, Inc., Piedmont Newton, and Athens Orthopedic.
