SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. – This Spring-like weather has got everyone wanting to get outside and get moving. A perfect opportunity awaits you at any of Georgia’s eight staffed public shooting ranges across the state. For the month of April, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division is giving a free ammo can, while supplies last, to everyone that visits any shooting range on a weekday.

“We are always looking to help excite people about shooting sports, so this is just a fun way to reward shooters for visiting our locations and raising awareness about where people can go shoot,” said Mark Swords, a Hunting and Shooting Education Specialist with the Wildlife Resources Division.

Georgia’s staffed shooting ranges include:

  • Cedar Creek, Putnam County
  • Clybel, Jasper County
  • Dixon Memorial, Ware County
  • Mike Commander, Dougherty County
  • Ocmulgee, Pulaski County
  • Richmond Hill, Bryan County
  • West Point, Troup County
  • Wilson Shoals, Banks County

In addition to these eight staffed shooting ranges, Georgia also has additional public shooting ranges, archery ranges (static targets, 3-D targets), an air rifle range and a shotgun range.
