Emily Wyatt awarded scholarship by UGA

Emily Lucille Wyatt of Covington has been selected to receive the Southern States Cooperative Scholarship awarded by the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences for the 2011-2012 academic year. Each year the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences awards approximately $100,000 in scholarships to students studying in any of their 24 majors.

The Southern States Cooperative Scholarship is awarded to students in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences who have been active in 4-H or FFA. Southern States Cooperative is a farmer co-op founded in 1923 and today operates in 25 states as one of the largest U.S. farmer cooperatives.  

Wyatt is a senior at the University of Georgia majoring in animal science. She participates in several student organizations including the Sigma Alpha professional agricultural sorority and UGA HEROs. In addition, Wyatt has been named to the dean’s list and is a Special Olympics volunteer. 

She is the daughter of Donny and Melissa Wyatt of Covington, Ga.
