Chick-fil-A's 38-year-old national Leadership Scholarship program has awarded the honor to its newest recipients Anna Phelps and Michelle Stuart from Covington.

Two $1,000 scholarships were presented to Phelps and Stuart from Chick-fil-A franchise operator Gene Robinson at the free-standing Chick-fil-A restaurant in Conyers. Phelps and Stuart are the 85th and 86th team members from the location to receive the award and are both attending DeKalb Technical College, Covington Campus. Stuart is studying early childhood education and Phelps is studying cosmetology.

"Anna and Michell's core values and pursuit of excellence align with the integrity and superior standards of Chick-fil-A," said Robinson. "They are some of 50,000 dedicated and hard-working Chick-fil-A team members across the country who daily put forth their best effort in providing award-winning service and freshly prepared food to create as pleasant a dining experience as possible for our customers. It is an honor to return the favor by acknowledging our team members' efforts with this scholarship."
