Just a thought: Death

We don't like to talk about it, yet we have so many unanswered questions regarding it - death. What about it? God does not want us to be ignorant or unaware nor does the Bible shy away from the topic. In fact it directly answers many of our most common questions. While space does not permit us to do a full examination of the subject, we will deal with the two most important questions about death: 1. Does everyone die? Unless Jesus comes back first, yes, everyone has a date with death "...it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment." (Hebrews 9:27) 2. Then what happens? "...the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) God does not want to leave us guessing, in fact he wants us to deal with this issue here and now through his word so we can have certainty when death comes we will have peace and confidence as to what it means for us. "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life," (1 John 5:13)
Dealing with the questions of death today will give us great peace toward our departure.
