Just a thought: Are you qualified for ministry?
Yes every believer is called to minister but are you qualified to do ministry for Jesus?
Jesus is committed to finish His course, and realizing time is of the essence calls and qualifies more than just the 12 He has been pouring into.
Luke 10:1 tells us, “After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.”
After what? After He had laid down the qualifications for being His disciple. You see you cannot give what you don’t have and you cannot teach what you do not know. Something from nothing is still nothing. We would do well to remember, as ministers, it is Jesus who is doing the calling and qualifying. It is Jesus who is doing the sending — He is sending His people to prepare other people for His coming. We are not alone, we are to work together. We are not on our own, He picks even the places we are to go and what we are to be doing there. We are certainly not alone, for we are among sheep, wolves and wolves in sheep’s clothing. How do we know if we are called and qualified? It’s not by the world’s standards, but God’s. Are we committed to Him alone? Are we concerned with His work, not our own? Are we carrying on His work and spreading His Word or is what we do more about us than Him? Ministry isn’t easy, that is why it’s so important that it be done by the called and the qualified. Does that describe you?
