Madison to celebrate July 4th early
7---Madison-to-celebrate-July-4th-early

MADISON Ga - It’s time to paint Madison red white and blue for the Cultural Center’s annual Independence Day Concert and Picnic on the front lawn, sponsored by Jim Boyd Insurance.

Summer in Madison would not be complete without this free celebration.  The event will feature live patriotic music by Georgia’s longest-operating community band, the Athens Classic City Band, directed by Michael Brewer.  Bring a picnic, blankets, tables, or chairs and join family and friends for the festivities.

This year’s picnic and concert will take place on Monday, July 3. The annual event features Uncle Sam, local talent singing the national anthem, and food vendors.

The patriotic concert will begin at 7 p.m., but come early to claim your spot on the lawn.  If you prefer, you can rent a table from the Center for $20.  And don’t forget to decorate your table - prizes will be given for “Most Patriotic” table decorations.

Concert ends at dusk and is followed by professional fireworks, presented by the City of Madison, at William Wood Park (formerly Heritage Park).  You do not want to miss this event!

The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center is a non-profit performing and visual arts center located at 434 S. Main St. in historic Madison.  For more information and to reserve a table, please call the Cultural Center at 706-342-4743.  If it rains, the concert and picnic will be moved to the Cultural Center Hall on Foster Street.
