COVINGTON, Ga. – Piedmont Newton Hospital will donate around 250 flu shots to the community during their first flu shot drive-thru event, which takes place on Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. in the hospital’s parking lot.
“We recommend that people get their flu shot by the end of October, if possible,” Eric Bour, MD, Piedmont Newton CEO, said. “A flu shot drive-thru, where patients can drive in, get a free flu shot administered by one of our registered nurses and drive out is not something that’s been done in this community before, and it will benefit those that may not be able to otherwise get a flu shot this year.”
The event, which is the first of its kind in Newton County, will take place in one of the hospital’s back parking lots, located on the corner Tate Street and Dearing Street. Patients can drive in through the parking lot entrance on Tate Street, where they will be guided through, as they receive their free flu shot without ever leaving their car. This event is free and open to the community, and flu shots will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
