COVINGTON, Ga. – Newton County welcomed its newest citizen Tuesday when the county’s first baby of 2018 was born at Piedmont Newton Hospital.

Braylen Stodghill was born at 8:12 a.m. Jan. 2 to Covington resident Tykendria Stodghill. According to hospital spokesperson Sydney D. Walker, Braylen came into the world weighing a healthy 6 pounds and 14 ounces. Braylen has a big brother, 1-year-old Asiah.

Mother and baby are doing well.
