COVINGTON, Ga. – Members of Covington’s Satsuki Garden Club planted azaleas, soft caress mahonia, and crepe myrtles among other flowering plants at Chimney Park Tuesday.
Club treasurer Gwen Gibbs said the plants were of the kind in the garden when the original home stood at the site. Gibbs also presented a check to Jean Austin, of the Newton County Parks Board. Money to purchase the plants was raised by the club’s tour of homes.
Gibbs said April 15 - 22 is Garden Week.
