Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Leeann Smith of Covington, to Cory Byrd Seymour of Milledgeville.

Cory is the son of Nancy and Tonny Buchanan of Milledgeville and Jerry and Peggy Seymour of Gray. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bob King and the late Idabelle King of Covington and William and Gladys Smith, also of Covington. She is a graduate of Macon State College and is employed as a special education teacher with the Newton County School System.

The future groom is the grandson of Maxine Murphy and the late Mercer Byrd and Ozzie Seymour. He is a graduate of Georgia Military College and is employed as a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol.

The couple plan to wed June 14, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Milledgeville. Following a honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Milledgeville.
