Mr. and Mrs. Danny Ard of Beaufort, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Philadelphia Danielle Ard, of Gainesville, to Ashley Spencer Henry of Commerce.
The bride-elect graduated from Battery Creek High School with honors and earned a bachelor's in Christian ministry from Anderson College in Anderson. S.C., where she was a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and was on the leadership team for the school's Baptist Collegiate Ministry. She earned a master's in divinity from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University in Atlanta and has served as associate youth minister at First Baptist Church of Gainesville for three years.
He is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Reginald Coleman Henry of Covington. He is the grandson of Evelyn Bowen and the late Waldo Bowen of Conyers and the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Coleman Henry of Covington.
The groom-elect is an alumnus of George Walton Academy in Monroe and earned an associate degree in networking from DeKalb Technical College in Covington, where he was a member of the student government association. He earned a bachelor's in history from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, where he was an active member of the Zeta Omicron chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma, the local chapter webmaster, webmaster for the online college newspaper and a member of the university's homecoming court. He is the network administrator at Barrow Regional Medical Center in Winder and associate IT administrator at Walton Medical Center in Monroe.
The wedding will be on Sept. 1 at Lucille's Mountain Top Bed and Breakfast Inn in north Georgia for immediate family and close friends.
A dinner reception will be hosted by the Rev. and Mrs. Reginald Henry on Nov. 5 at Turner Lake Community Senior Center in Covington for family and friends.
