The students of the Arts Association of Newton County were busy this weekend, performing Shrek the Musical in front of the crowds at Newton High School.
The auditorium was buzzing with the Oxford Singing Children and Oxford Youth Singers making their big debut on the stage. Back stage, many more worked on the set, music and intricate costumes that made the characters come to life. In order to master all the moving parts of the show, professional staff, volunteers and performers had to come together.
The people back stage had just as many responsibilities as those in lead roles. Light techs, microphone techs, set movers, and even the curtain movers all played a crucial part of the production. Here is their story in photos.
