The Christian Learning Center is a Christ-centered, non-denominational, non-profit organization aimed at teaching public school students Biblical truths and life application through a “release time” program where students are released from public school to come to the Christian Learning Center and take courses using Bible-based curriculum.
Courses are free and taken voluntarily with parent approval. Currently, the Newton County Christian Learning Center offers one class per semester taught at two off campus locations serving Cousins Middle School and the Newton County Theme School (grades sixth through eigth). There are future plans to eventually include all middle school students in Newton County.
Additionally, there is also a high school Bible study club open to all high school students in Newton County.
The mission of the Newton County Christian Learning Center is to equip students with the ability to discover God’s purpose for their lives and to develop a Biblical worldview.
Course topics include understanding basic Biblical principles, maintaining strong relationships, leadership and character development, Bible history, evaluating values and beliefs, handling peer pressure and stress, managing resources and more.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, no government funds are received. Instead, 100% of funding comes from donations by individuals, churches, businesses, and various organizations within the community.
All proceeds from the auction will directly benefit the Christian Learning Center’s Biblical programs.
Auction item donations are welcomed! To donate items for the auction, please bring them to either of the two convenient drop-off locations: Covington Air Systems, Inc., located at 98 Oxford West Drive in Oxford and RE/MAX Agents Realty, located at 2180 Elm Street in Covington.
Easily-carried items for the auction will be collected during normal business hours through Nov. 2. For larger items, please call 404-454-1589 to schedule a pick-up.
Join us Friday, Nov. 8 for a fun evening to support a worthy cause!
