Hugh and Pat Pope

The Rev. Hugh and Pat Pope celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 19 with a reception at the Garden Plaza in Lawrenceville. More than 100 friends and family members came to celebrate with them. The event was hosted by their son and daughter-in-law the Rev. Mylon and Amy Pope of Middleburg, Fla., and daughter and son-in-law Tim and Dawn Hunter of Covington, and grandchildren Josh Hunter of Paz River, Md. (US Navy), and Zack Hunter of Atlanta and Jonathan and Beth Pope of Middleburg. The Popes were married June 18, 1960 in Roanoke, Va. They pastored churches in South Carolina, Virginia and Florida. The Rev. Pope was district superintendent of the Wesleyan Churches in Georgia for 13 years. They are now involved in mission work in Jamaica. The celebrated their anniversary with an Alaskan cruise.
