MADISON, Ga. - On Sunday, Oct. 22, Madison-Morgan Cultural Center (MMCC) will host FARM Day, a free event that will transform the Center’s front lawn into an interactive agricultural landscape the whole family will enjoy.
From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., join the festivities and spend a beautiful day outside celebrating Morgan County’s agrarian lifestyle.
The front lawn will be host to multiple types of barnyard animals, including cows, sheep, goats, pigs and more. There will also be sheep shearing, cow milking, and other agricultural demonstrations. If you have a machinery lover in your family, look no further! There will be tractors galore to entertain and educate. FARM Day will also include fun activities for kids, such as a scavenger hunt, face painting, and other games. When you need a break from the activities, there will be live music to listen to and ice cream and steak bites to sample.
Make sure to go inside MMCC during FARM DAY to experience the FARM exhibition – an art exhibit celebrating the agrarian lifestyle of the rural South through paintings, photography, and sculpture. The FARM exhibition features works by regional artists depicting this essential way of life and also includes artwork by Morgan County students (K – 12). From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., members of the Madison- Morgan County Boys and Girls club will be serving as junior docents in the FARM exhibition and other parts of the Cultural Center Museum.
The Cultural Center is excited to be partnering with Morgan County FFA, who will be selling concessions, Morgan County High School Art students who will be doing face painting, the Madison-Morgan County Boys & Girls Club, who will be serving as junior docents inside the FARM exhibition and museum, and other organizations for this great family event. A special thanks goes out to FARM Day Ruby Sponsor, Godfrey’s Feed. For more information on FARM Day, go to the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center website or visit the Center during open hours.
