William Kenneth Barnett

William Kenneth Barnett, 83, of Franklin, died Jan. 24. The son of the late Daniel Leo and Eva Margaret Smith Barnett, he was born in St. Catharines Ontario, Canada. He was preceded in death by sister Grace Visentin. He was a mechanical engineer in the fibers division of the textile mill Hercules Inc. and a World War II veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He attended First Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife Beverly Clement Barnett; sons Stephen Kenneth Barnett of Roswell; William David Barnett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren Alexis Hawkes, William Barnett, Lee Barnett; great-grandchild Liam Hawkes; niece Barbara Truant.

Funeral services were held Jan. 29 at First Baptist Church, Franklin, N.C., with the Rev. Harold Ball and the Rev. Bob Abel officiating. Interment was in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Barnett, Bill Barnett, Ernest Holt, Larry Coates, Thomas LeMieux and Ed Nelson.
