Walter C. (Cannon Ball) Bennett Sr., 75, of Covington, died at his home Aug. 11. The son of the late Willis B. and Jewell E. Bennett, he was of the Baptist faith and worked for Bibb Manufacturing for over 30 years. Mr. Bennett enjoyed going fishing, raising rabbits and chickens and working in his garden. He dearly loved his family and will be missed by all.

Surviving are wife Flora Bennett of Covington; daughters and son-in-law Brenda and Robert Webb, Benita Mann, all of Covington, Judy Dick of Conyers; son Walter C. Bennett Jr., of Dearing; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law Bill Bennett of Jesup, Norman and Frances Bennett of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
