V. David Bishop

Mr. V. David Bishop, 73, of Mansfield, died April 1 at his home. The son of the late William Jackson and Julia Ellis Bishop, he was born in DeKalb County. Mr. Bishop was president of Bishop & Bergbower Contractors, a commercial pipeline business for 36 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1956 to 1958, enjoyed woodcrafts and was loved by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving brother.

Surviving are wife of 49 years Bobbie Bishop of Mansfield; daughter Barbara Austin of Conyers; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Michele Bishop of Conyers; grandchildren Bobbie and Kevin Cissner, Stephanie and Robby Erwin, Jamie Bishop; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Blake and Austin; brothers and sisters-in-law Jack and Martha Bishop of Eatonton, Charles Bishop of California, Ralph and Eloise Bishop of Sparta, Pete and Arlene Bishop, Joe and Alice Bishop, all of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held April 3 in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Dale Mauldin officiating. Interment followed in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
