Two people died in a head-on collision Thursday afternoon on County Road 213, according to the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
The accident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on County Road 213, between Dixie Road and Ga. Highway 36.
A southbound white Ford F-250 crossed over the center line and crashed head-on into a black 1993 Toyota Camry that was heading north, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Terrance Wright, investigator for the accident.
The Ford was fully engulfed in flames before the Newton County Fire Department arrived on scene and was able to extinguish the blaze.
No other vehicles or drivers were involved in the accident.
The cause and contributing factors of the crash are still being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending family notification.
