Mr. Thomas Edward Norton, 84, of Covington, died May 20. The son of the late Will A. Norton and Elender McGiboney Norton, he was born in Rockdale County in 1923. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Mr. Norton worked for many years as a meat cutter for Food Giant.

Surviving are sons Dennis Norton of Norfolk, Va., Jerry Norton of Atlanta; daughters Terri Plemons of Stockbridge, Melissa Waytt of Covington; sisters Levern Singley of Michigan, Evelyn Brownlee of Conyers; brother Ralph Norton of Social Circle; 19 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. May 22 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Plemons officiating. Interment followed at Eastview Cemetery, Conyers.
