Selling an assortment of china, jewelry, home furnishings and knickknacks, Fine Things is the place to find items that will bring a little panache to your home.
Located for the past three months on South Cherokee Road in downtown Social Circle, Fine Things is a great place to find gift items for that special someone or to pick up the latest collectors item from Byers Choice (handcrafted dolls) or Mark Roberts (whimsical fairies).
Shop owner Ruby Bonner said she decided to open Fine Things in Social Circle because she saw a need for a boutique selling fine gift items for residents of Walton and Newton counties who didn't want to travel to Atlanta to go shopping.
"I just enjoy people," Bonner said. "I enjoy treating them like I like to be treated when I go to a store. I like to acknowledge anyone that comes into the store."
Bonner, who is also a home decorator, puts together all of the floral arrangements on display at Fine Things. Her decorator's touch is apparent in the artful display of table settings and holiday decorations in the shop. Bonner's services as a home decorator are also available to customers.
Formerly of Florida where she owned and ran a shop similar to Fine Things, Bonner moved to Social Circle six years ago with her husband. Bonner said she does most of the shopping for her store in Atlanta as well as Chicago.
Fine Things carries Spode and Casafina china, Home Décor lamps and furnishings and original paintings. Ahava and Provence Sante beauty products are available. Gift boxes of gourmet pastries from Petite Treats are also sold at the shop.
With Christmas over, Bonner said that there will be a sale on many of the holiday items still left in the store. The Byers Choice Christmas dolls will not be on sale, however, she said.
Prices vary greatly at Fine Things with a grandfather clock one of the more expensive items at $650. While Bonner said some of the items sold at her shop may cost more than wares sold at other stores, all of the product lines she carries are top quality.
