Mr. Tharon Stubbs, 86, of Covington died July 19. The son of the late Thomas Lester and Lucy Myrtle Bohannan Stubbs, he was born in Newton County and retired from C&D Technology. Mr. Stubbs was of the Baptist Faith, enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, baseball, racing and loved his family.

Mr. Stubbs is survived by his wife Sara Stubbs of Social Circle; daughter, Christy Baker of Covington; son, Rick Stubbs Sr. of Covington; grandchildren, Heather Baker Autry, Rick Stubbs Jr., Kim Mitchell, Travis Stubbs, all of Covington, Raife Baker of New York, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Califf Bryant, Christopher, Micah, Lily, Allison and Braydon; sister, Jule Mask of Covington; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Jean Stubbs of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Newton County Humane Society, attn: Betty Bellairs, P.O. Box 2536, Covington, Ga. 30015, or to any local animal shelter.
