Stella Kate Barker Moss, 96, a resident of Covington for 90 years, died June 30 at Covington Manor Nursing Home. The daughter of the late John and Sallie Blackwell Barker, she was the widow of Thomas M. Moss. Mrs. Moss was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Senior Citizens Group and the Mary Sue Smith Sunday School class. She was an avid Braves fan and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Cotton and Cookie Moss of Covington; grandchildren Terry and Dedi Moss of Rutledge, Tim and Lynda Moss, Todd and Susan Moss, all of Covington, Randy and Tonya Moss Hallford of Oxford; great-grandchildren Kati Moss, Christopher Moss, Abigail Moss, Rebecca Moss, Andrew Hallford, Tristan Moss, Caroline Hallford; sister Mattie Wyatt of Farrow; brother Thomas Barker of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 2 in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. Lawrence Lockett officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
