Mr. Stanley "Lamar" Gossett, 49, a longtime resident of Covington died Feb. 10. The son of Frank and Carol Gossett, he was born in 1958 in Fulton County He attended Eastridge Community Church. Mr. Gossett enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles and loved spending time with his seven grandchildren.

Surviving are Sandra Gossett of Covington; parents Frank and Carol Gossett of Covington; grandmother Nellie Ivy of Covington; children Foster Lamar Gossett, Joshua Harley Gossett and Jermiah Christian Gossett, all of Acworth; stepchildren Daniel Lavon Chavez of Monroe and Justin Lee James of Covington; brother Kyle Gossett of Covington; sisters Connie Henson of Stockbridge and Erica Hardeman of Covington; several nieces, nephews and other family and close friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Gossett will be at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 13, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The American Cancer Society, PO Box 54327, Atlanta, GA 30308.
