Sherry Faye Benefield of Carnesville died May 5 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The daughter of the late Martin McSherdon and Nelda Jean Olgles McSherdon, she was born in Tillsburg, Ala. She was married to Michael Ray Benefield, who died for injuries in the same accident.

Surviving are daughters Tina Ann Benefield, Tammy Faye Benefield; three grandchildren; grandmother Pearl Word of Covington; brothers Harvey Pitts of Covington, Tracy McSherdon of Stockbridge; aunt Janice Adams of Porterdale.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 7, in the chapel of Ivie Funeal Home after which the body will be cremated.
