Sara L. Allen, 73, of Covington, died Oct. 4. The daughter of the late Earnest and Jinnie Lou Willard, she was born in Newton County and was a homemaker. Mrs. Allen was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are husband Pete Allen of Covington; daughter and son-in-law Sherry Lynn Allen-Blankenbeker and Bobby Blankenbeker of Cartersville; son Clifford Allen of Long Beach, Calif.; grandchildren Mark Daniel Allen, Sarah Lynn Byrum, Keri Lynn Wheeler, Brandi Danielle Wheeler, Logan Randle Allen; great-grandchildren Reese Pirkle, Devontae Wood, Aiden Allen, Emma Pirkle, Kya Wood, Sydney Allen, sisters Sylvia Rickman of Conyers, Diane Shubert of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 7, in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with the Rev. Richard Culpepper officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park Memory Chapel Mausoleum.
