Sam Cofer

Sam Cofer, 88, of Covington, died June 4 at Rockdale Health Care. The son of the late Albert and Lila Moss Cover he was born in Butts County. Mr. Cofer was a member of Porterdale Baptist Church and worked for Bibb Manufacturing until 1955 when he became a building contractor. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and going to Bojangles. Mr. Cofer dearly loved his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Gledys Cofer, and brothers Robert Cofer, Roy Cofer and James Cofer.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Diane and Rich Sale of Covington; son and daughter-in-law Henry and Fay Cofer of Covington; grandchildren Michael Autry, Kim Malcom, Al Cofer, Kayla Cofer, Justin Cofer; great-grandchildren Makenzie Bell, Maggie Malcom, Jade Cofer, Samantha Autry, Maddie Autry; sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Frank Sailers of Baldwin; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 6, in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. Dickie Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
