Chad Hixon (Berkmar High School; Snellville) of Oxford College of Emory University was named Co-Player of the Week for the NJCAA Men's Division III for the week ending Feb. 10.
Despite two losses during that same time span, Oxford received two memorable performances from Hixon. He scored 36 points and five rebounds in a 74-56 loss to Fort McPherson on Feb. 7. Then on Feb. 9 against Catawba Valley Community College (N.C.), Hixon scored 41 points with 18 rebounds in a 78-69 loss.

His 41 points set a new single-game scoring record for Oxford.
And if that wasn't enough, Hixon became the all-time leading scorer in Oxford College history on Feb. 11 in a 105-44 loss to Middle Georgia College. He finished the game with 27 points.

Oxford's season ended last Friday during a 95-79 loss to the Macon Rebels. Overall, Hixon finished the year averaging 23.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
