Newton Recreation hosting activities

The Newton County Recreation Commission is hosting a youth turkey shoot from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Turner Lake Complex.

There will be three different age groups: 6-8, 9-10 and 11-12. The winner of the game will receive a frozen turkey.

The Turner Lake Complex is the ideal place for such an event, since it offers both the beauty and serenity of a park.

For more information, contact the Newton County Recreation Commission at (770) 786-4373.

CAMPS

The Newton County Recreation Commission has several upcoming camp programs, which will all be held at the Turner Lake Complex.

The daily activities will occur during the week-long school holidays for ages 6-12. Each camp begins at 8 a.m. and lasts until 6 p.m.

The Christmas camp is the next program, which will be held December 17-21. The mid-winter camp is February 18-22, while the spring break camp is April 7-11.

Each weekly camp costs $65 per child and is limited to the first 100 registered children.
