Crystal Nelson-Jenkins of Covington and Douglas Halstead of Covington were married May 24 at New Hope community church with the Rev. Leon Bohannon officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Lee and pat Nelson of Covington and granddaughter of Garfield and the late Lanora McDaniel of Roanoke, Ala. The groom is the son of James and Beth Miller of Covington and grandson of pearl Whittenburg of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The bride was given in marriage by her son Kyle Callahan and her father Lee Nelson. The bride was attired in a cream, off-the-shoulder satin tress and wore a tiara. Kristen Wilson, daughter of the bride, served as attendant. She wore a cream off-the-shoulder top with a long teal skirt. Bridesmaids were Nicole Day, Katie Weesner, Pearl Grimes, Samantha Miller and Amanda Greer. They wore long teal off-the-shoulder dresses.

Serving as best man, was Lloyd Miller of Conyers. Groomsmen were Kyle Callahan, Blake Day, Michael Jenkins, Dean Terrell and Jamie Lloyd.

Serving as flower girl was Leslie Lloyd of Covington who wore a cream and white lace long dress with a teal sash. Ring-bearer was Jeremy Pollard of Covington who wore a long-tailed white tuxedo.

The reception was held at the City of Covington Community Center. The couple honeymooned at Disney World.

The bride is a graduate of Georgia Career Institute for Massage Therapy.
