Mrs. Claude (Emaly) Jordan

Mrs. Claude (Emaly) Jordan, 89, of Covington, died Nov. 1. The daughter of the late William Harry and Lenora Dunn Davis, she was born in 1918 in Walton County. Mrs. Jordan was a member of Covington First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class, the Callie Cohen Circle and the Singing Saints and played music for Bible School classes. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and past president of the Covington Garden Club. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by husband Claude H. Jordan.

Surviving are daughter Peggy J. Silvia of Covington; son and daughter-in-law John D. and Arlene Jordan of Oxford; grandchildren Monya Lester, Cathy Burgoyne, Mart Jordan, Ashley Hill, Marshall Jordan; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. at Covington First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Whatley officiating. Interment followed at Covington City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Covington First United Methodist Church, Renovation Fund, 1113 Conyers St., Covington, 30014.
