Two men were arrested Thursday after a concerned homeowner reported suspicious activity near his house.

The resident, who lives on on Nixon Circle, called the Covington Police Department to report young men "smoking dope and rapping" in front of his house. CP Officer Patrick Womack arrived on the scene to find five males standing on the sidewalk near the house.

When the men saw Womack, they reportedly started walking away in three different directions. Womack called for them to return and stand near the patrol car. A subsequent search of the men revealed Andre Dixon was carrying a plastic baggie which contained 11 smaller baggies full of suspected marijuana.

A check of identities also revealed Christopher Farley had an outstanding warrant out of Newton County for probation violation.

Both men were arrested and transported to the Newton County Detention Center. Farley was released to the Newton County Sheriff's Office. Dixon was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
