Mrs. May A. Young, 92, of Covington, died March 7. The daughter of the late Jobe and Mattie Lawhorn Allgood, she was born in 1915 in Jersey;. Mrs. Young worked for 35 years as a hairstylist and was a member of Gaither's United Methodist Church and the VFW, Post 5290. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by daughter Martha Nelson; brother and sister-in-law Walter and Betty Allgood and grandson Dana Still.

Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law Bobby and Debra Hamby of Covington, John Hamby of Hawaii; sister and brother-in-law Eva and L.D. Johnston, Covington; grandsons Ashley and Kelley Hamby of Covington.

Funeral services were held March 11 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Dickie Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial park.
