Lois Fincher Edwards

Mrs. Lois Fincher Edwards, 90, of Covington died April 19. Daughter of the late Ambus and Elson Moss Fincher, she was born Dec. 17, 1917 in Newton County. Mrs. Edwards was a lifelong resident of Covington and a member of Red Oak United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Edwards was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Hollis Smith Edwards and is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Mr. William H. "Billy" Edwards, Mr. Donald S. "Don" Edwards and Mr. A. Stanley and Mary Edwards, all of Covington; one sister and brother-in-law, Latrelle and Harvey Bohannon Jr. of St. George; grandchildren, Stan and Leslie Edwards, Steve and Kay Edwards and Donna and David Dorton; great-grandchildren, Crystal Brown, Allen Dorton, Coley and Tristan Edwards; great-great-grandchildren, Matthew and Samantha Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 21 at the Red Oak United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allen Green, the Rev. Miguel Velez and the Rev. Jerry Jones officiating, with interment following at Red Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today, April 20. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Abbey Hospice, 215 Azalea Court, Social Circle, Ga. 30025 or to Red Oak United Methodist Church, 15105 Ga. Highway 36, Covington, Ga. 30014. Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel is in charge of the arrangments.
