Les Roe, 72, of Porterdale, died Sept. 5 at Newton Medical Center. The son of the late William Henry and Rosie Johnson Roe, he was born in Kentucky. Mr. Roe was employed by O'Reilly Auto parts. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, wood working and loved all dogs. He was preceded in death by his son Ronald V. Roe.
Surviving are finacée Betty Thomas of Porterdale; daughters Leslie B. Roe and Patricia L. Roe, both of Ohio; son David A. Roe of Ohio; step-daughters and son-in-law Donna and Mark Davis of Buckhead, Cheryl Serrato of Conyers; six step-grandchildren; 12 great-step-grandchildren; sisters Helen Collins of parker, Colo., Mary Gibson of Mayslick, Ky., Hazel Marton of Blanchester, Ohio, Lucille Neal of Waco, Ky., Opal Ballard of Danville, Ind., Olive Parks of Williamburg, Va., Audrey Prim of St. Clair Shore, Mich.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday;, Sept. 13, in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Mark Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, Sept. 13, from noon until 2 p.m.
