Mrs. Lenora J. Freeman, 81, of Covington, died Oct. 19 at Abbey Hospice, Social Circle. The son of the late Joseph Felton and Ada M. Warren Johnson, she was born in Newton County. A life long resident of Newton County, Mrs. Freeman was of the Baptist faith, attending Harmony Baptist Church, Midway Baptist Church and the Baptist Tabernacle. She enjoyed playing the piano and southern gospel music. She was involved with her family and was a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the last surviving sister of seven children and was preceded in death by husband John Robert Freeman.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Judy and Aubrey Bennett of Covington, Ginger and Glenn Parker of Oxford; sons and daughters-in-law John R. (Bobby) Jr. and Gloria Freeman, Jimmy and Judy Freeman, Ricky Freeman, all of Covington, Jackie and Judy Freeman of Monticello; grandchildren Geno Kedzierski, Lenny Kedzierski, Melanie Freeman, Kevin Freeman, Josh Freeman, Andy Freeman, Jessica Freeman, Crystal Freeman, Lisa Parker, Lee Parker, David Burroughs; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Floyd Street chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Dr. R. Hudson Moody and Dr. David Moody officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
