Mrs. Joyce "Maw" Kitchens, 72, of Loganville, died Sept. 11. The daughter of the late William Grover Cleveland and Evie Loucille Brownlee Moon, she was born in Gwinnett County. Mrs. Kitchens was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Kitchens is preceded in death by husband Marion Monroe Kitchens.

Surviving are children Patsy McBryar of Griffin, Gene Johnson of Conyers, Marvin Kitchens of Covington, Robert Louie Kitchens of Loganville; step-children Earnest Kitchens of Baltimore, Md., Debbie Kennedy of Covington, Gene Kitchens of Athens, Tenn., Sherry Williams of Atlanta, Roxanne Kitchens of Monroe; sisters Faye Brown of Oakwood, Jane Bryant of Covington, Patricia Ramey of Loganville, Brenda Anderson of Temple; brothers Jim Moon of Goddard, Kansas, Jack Moon of Opelika, Ala., Larry Moon of Monroe, Ben Moon of Loganville; 12 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be today, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, with the Rev. J. Clifton Brown officiating. Interment will follow at County Line Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
