Jimmy D. Day, 64, of Covington, died Sept. 20. The son of the late Clarence Iverson and Annie Lois Woodruff Day, he was born in 1943. Mr. Day retired from General Motors Lakewood Plant after 30 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Day loved cutting trees and doing yard work. He was preceded in death by wife Henry Faye Leachman Day.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Jackie Day, Mike and Connie Day, all of Covington, Shane and Beth Day of Walnut Grove; grandchildren Terry Day, Tara Griffin, Mariah Day, Amanda Day, Hunter Day; great-grandchildren Mary Griffin, Cody Griffin; sisters and brothers-in-law Carolyn and Franklin Kitchens of Conyers, Shirley and Roy Taylor of Covington; brothers and sisters-in-law George and Pat Day, Harrison and Joyce Day, Don and Linda Day, Russell and Ruth Day, Terry Day, all of Covington, Larry and Martha Day of Snellville, Charles and Sherry Day of Monroe, Bert Day of Jonesboro, Martha Day and Cornelia Day Kitchens, both of Oxford; several nieces and nephews; special friend Rachel Biggers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with the Rev. Jimmy Edwards and the Rev. Franklin Kitchens officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
